چکیده
Background. Curcumin has a variety of properties, including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ones, demonstrated some protective prospects on neurological conditions.
Aim: This study explored the neuroprotective ability curcumin in lipopolysaccharide-induced neuroinflammation an animal model.
Methods. A total thirty-two adult male mice were randomly assigned to four groups (A, B, C, D, n=8): Group (Control) received distilled water; B was administered lipopolysaccharide (LPS) only induce for seven days; C treated with both LPS simultaneously fourteen D days. After appropriate exposure mice, their cognitive abilities assessed using Y-maze novel object recognition tests. At termination administration period, sacrificed, hippocampi dissected histology immunostaining GFAP Iba1. Statistical analysis data generated done GraphPad prism. Tests significance one-way ANOVA Tukey tests post-hoc.
Results. significantly (p < 0.05) increased recognition, mean alternation, markedly restored neuronal distortion caused by toxicity CA3 region dentate gyrus hippocampus animals as compared B. In addition, down-regulated Iba1 expression cell activities gyrus.
Conclusions. showed promising role attenuating LPS-induced brain inhibiting microglial activation improving memory neurotoxic mice.

Curcumin Prevents Acute Neuroinflammation and Long-Term Memory Impairment Induced by Systemic Lipopolysaccharide in Mice
Systemic lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induces an acute inflammatory response in the central nervous system (CNS) ("neuroinflammation") characterized by altered functions of microglial cells, the major resident immune cells of the CNS, and an increased inflammatory profile that can result in long-term neuronal cell damage and severe behavioral and cognitive consequences. Curcumin, a natural compound...
متن کاملCaffeine attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced neuroinflammation.
Caffeine is an antagonist at A1 and A2A adenosine receptors and epidemiological evidence suggests that caffeine consumption reduces the risk of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Neuroinflammation plays a role in the etiology of these diseases and caffeine may provide protection through the modulation of inflammation. Adenosine has a known role in the propagation of inflammation and caffeine...
متن کاملMinocycline attenuates post‐operative cognitive impairment in aged mice by inhibiting microglia activation
Although it is known that isoflurane exposure or surgery leads to post-operative cognitive dysfunction in aged rodents, there are few clinical interventions and treatments available to prevent this disorder. Minocycline (MINO) produces neuroprotection from several neurodegenerative diseases and various experimental animal models. Therefore, we set out to investigate the effects of MINO pre-trea...
متن کاملCurcumin attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced renal inflammation.
Renal inflammation is the main pathological change in many acute and chronic kidney diseases. Curcumin, a yellow pigment present in the rhizome of turmeric (Curcuma longa L. Zingiberaceae), was found to be a potential anti-inflammatory agent. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of curcumin on the inflammation of mice kidney and cultured renal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2 cells)...
متن کاملSomatostatin prevents lipopolysaccharide-induced neurodegeneration in the rat substantia nigra by inhibiting the activation of microglia
Somatostatin (SST) is a neuromodulator which is abundant throughout the central nervous system (CNS) and has a crucial role in neurodegenerative disorders. However, little is known about the effects and mechanisms of SST in dopaminergic (DA) neurons in the context of Parkinson's disease (PD). In the present study, a model of PD was generated by injecting lipopolysaccharide (LPS) into the substa...
